We left this am at about 10am and had an uneventful drive towards Queensland. The countryside had lots of trees and we saw many emus but the road surface was very uneven so quite uncomfortable. We visited the oldest and last pub in NSW situated approx 1 km from the border. We had such a nice time with the landlady who was all of 82-85 years old and runs the pub on her own. We asked for coffee and what we got was absolutely fantastic, coffee served on a silver tray with starched white embroidered napkin, homemade bread toasted with homemade marmalade and homemade biscuits which cost us $5 each for the lot. The landlady was a darling and we talked about the pub, her family and nursing, she was really interested in my nursing career. We stayed about an hour with her, and felt quite sad to leave her but another couple came so I'm sure more stories would be told. We are in Cunnamulla for the night and have been told by our neighbour that the police do a round about teatime and we have just seen them and apparently they do about 4 drive through in the night.....yah wonder what the town is like!!
