We are still in Hervey Bay and having a good look around most days. Today it has been raining and we have had 100mm since yesterday PM so have not been anywhere. Dave has been playing bowls and tennis on the WII and I have been trying to master MYST a computer game I have had for years and had no time to really play it. We had a really long walk a couple of days ago, we visited the shark exhibition which was very interesting. Vic Hislop is considered to be an expert on Sharks and said out of 350 species of sharks there is only 4 man eaters and they should be killed as the heavy fishing worldwide and not thinning out the large sharks (because they are protected) has had a devastating effect on the gentle creatures of the ocean such as turtles, penguins, dugongs, dolphins and whales. He has a theory that whales beach themselves because they are trying to swim away from the sharks and when you listen to the research he has done it sounds very plausible. We then went on the fitness apparatus which are along the esplanade and are very much used. We are here till Monday and then we will head inland and got to Kathryn and Kununarra, we may go to Darwin but will see how we are doing for time. We were going to go to Cairns but have decided to leave it till next year as we will have more time to spend there.
