Broome

We stayed at a couple of free camps on our way to Broome and met some nice people. One couple lived in their bus which they showed us round and it was like a small flat! Another lot of people were from France and they were travelling to Broome in a car, 2 girls and a boy. They slept in the car and when they arrived it poured down, they had shelter from a picnic/barbecue shelter but we gave them a beer and a glass of wine.They were a nice little group, the others were a family doing 6 months of travel in their caravan, they had 3 kids who were lovely. I must say it seems to be that people are a lot friendlier in the free camping areas. We arrived in Broome and stayed once more at Roebuck Bay caravan park on a beachfront site and really enjoyed the cooler temps and swimming without the fear of crocodiles. We did lots of walks, went to the open air cinema and watched BOY a NZ film. We met a nice couple who we went to the movies with and had pizza from Eagle Boys . Dave bought a kayak whilst we were there so was able to do some paddling and is very pleased with his purchase. I did some nice walks and took some photos of the rock formations on the beach to see the different colours for Trudy. It was nice to relax and enjoy the shops so we stayed for over a week. We also caught up with some friends we met in Darwin, Mary and Steve who had just arrived, they were staying in a different caravan park as they have an elderly dog. All in all we had a lovely time in Broome. I have included some photos of wild horses on the road and a bull roaming around a gas station. Actually we met a young man from the Middle East who is walking around the world, he has been on the road since 1992 (I think thats the year). He was carrying a big backpack with his National flag waving from it and was sat on a stone working on his computer. We had a little chat and he said he had found it difficult in WA as the towns are a long way from each other (he is not wrong) so he had to walk longer distances between which meant carrying more supplies.
